Verdict

A real model with a real personality — and real tradeoffs.

Grok is the only assistant with a direct feed of X (Twitter) data, which makes it weirdly good for live events and topical research. Image generation is included and intentionally permissive. The model is competitive with GPT-4o; the brand is a feature for some users and a dealbreaker for others.
